About Older OTC DAIHEN / Miller Welding Robots

OTC DAIHEN has a long and interesting history in the North American market, which spans two companies and three decades lifetime. In order to offer support to our customers who still use some of our older models of robots, we would like to clarify the names the robots have been called in the past.

Robot Naming Conventions

In the 1980's and early 1990's, OTC DAIHEN manufactured robots for Miller as an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). While the robots had their own model numbers and names in Japan, Miller chose to assign their own model numbers (prefixed by the letters "MR") for the North American market. As Miller no longer supports robots manufactured during this era, the following chart providing names here for reference purporses.

In 1996, OTC DAIHEN started selling robots under the name "Dynamic Robots", also referred to as the DR-series. The DR series was later succeeded by the EX series, followed by the AX series, and now AII series.
